The first thing that you need to do is to check if your device supports NFC. If it does then you need to use an app that allows you to read and write NFC tags.
We recommend you use the app called NFC Tools. These are the links for Android and iOS
Once you open the app:
– Select ‘Write’
– Then select ‘Add Record’
– Select the ‘Data’ option
– Once you have selected the ‘Data’ option you need to define the content type as ‘Plain and Text’
– In the field below that you add the slug of the item that you use with the NFC tag (found on your Inspections page)
– Once you have done that you select ‘Write’, bring the NFC tag to the device and it should display as the write being successful
– This will only need to be done once per tag
We recommend you password-protect your NFC tags after writing the data, that will prevent rewriting the tag by random people who discovered the tag. You can find the instruction in our knowledge base or via this link How to password protect your NFC tag
